April 15th

 Today in class we were given an assignment on newsela where we had to read an article and then afterwards answer some questions that asked about what certain parts of the article was talking about, finding the definition for two words, clicking the sentences that matched the words, and then we also had a writing prompt where we had to look through the article to find a person, place, or an idea that was developed throughout the text and include information on how it was

November 16th

In class we were told that due to people going to be out Friday we would take the assessment which had 25 questions and asked about the characters, how the setting affected the story and other questions about the story. After we returned from lunch we had a few more minutes to finish up then we were handed a packet about a film call “on the way to school” that was about 4 children from Kenya, India, Morocco, and Argentina and how they would get to school daily and what motivated them to make the long journey to school. Before watching the film we had to answer a question that asked us what troubles could be faced on our way to school as well as writing down 2 traditions that are done in the countries that the children are from.

February 29th

 In class we were given a code so that we could start out test for the poems that we have read in the past week which has 25 questions. Each poem had at least 5 or so questions for them which would ask what certain parts of them meant. Once we had went and came back from lunch we were told about a poem that we would write about our culture and put it onto a jam board that also had five images that interpret our poem, two more that would represent our culture, four literary devices, and would have three analysis of quotes from our poem with two themes as well

February 2nd

 In class we were told how we had to take a short assessment that had about 5 questions and we had 20 minutes to finish it because it wouldn’t take that long. Once we were all done we were told about a presentation that we would be doing alone and that it’ll be on a character from the book. We could choose any character and we could either put down 10 songs the character would listen to, 10 things that could be found in their trash can or 10 websites the character would search up all with links that could be used.
