March 26th

 Today in class we were given time to finish up the questions and reading the text that we were given yesterday because it’ll be due today. The questions would ask you to analyze and reflect on what had occurred in the paragraph. It would ask about the actions of the characters, what it could mean or symbolize, and then we had to analyze the conclusion to come up with themes that were emphasized in throughout the text 

March 25th

 In class we were asked if we had any of the argumentative paragraphs that we did last week and if we did we could turn them in. Once he collected them we were told we had an assignment in canvas that would have us reading a text and then answering questions that would ask what we read on each paragraph. It would be do the next day if we hadn’t finished it, then we talked about the eoc and how the grading will work 

March 22nd

 Today in class we had to hand in our two argumentative paragraphs on student athletes receiving compensation and one on in social media is beneficial or harmful towards students mental and social health. We were told if we didn’t finish we could turn it in Monday, afterwards we took a test on argumentative writing that had twenty questions which asked what kinds of claim a sentence was and on what parts are included in one 

March 21st

 Today in the beginning of class we were told to take out three pieces of line paper, our Chromebook’s to go to canvas, and a pencil. Our assignment was to write an argumentative paragraph talking about our stand point on if student athletes should get compensation for playing sports as well as another argumentative paragraph talking about if social media is beneficial or harmful to teenagers and their mental and social health. Once we finished writing one of them we would switch with someone else so that we could review each others and put that what we could fix on them.

March 19th

 Today in class we were given an assignment where we were given four different articles to read. Two would be about students in high school and college being paid to play sports and we had to find two evidence on why they should and then two on why they shouldn’t. The other two documents would be about social media and we had to do the same thing for it 

March 18th

 In class we were given an assignment where we were given ten prompts and we had to come up with an argument on why the prompt should be supported as well as one on why the prompt shouldn’t be supported and why it is a bad idea. I had finished it so when I did I started to work on my other missing assignments for the class such as the assignment from Friday on the ten claims, opposing claim, and the topic of the article read

March 15th

 In class we were given an assignment where we would read an article and would have to find ten claims and then put what type of claim it is. Once we found those we would then have to find a counterclaim and write it down. The assignment would be due Monday 

March 14th

 In class we had a substitute teacher who told us that our assignment for the day would be in newsela and that once we finish with the class we have to do our blog. Once I finished I started working on the previous newsela that we were given that have five questions to it that were on canvas to be answered 

March 12th

Today in class we were given another Newsela that had another four questions, six more words to identity and then another writing prompt that would have us explain how a person, theme or topic was developed and found in the text and it was due at the end of the class as well. We were also told how Mr Reese wouldn’t be in class Thursday so we’ll have a sub who will tell us whether we have another Newsela or common lit assignment that would be posted on canvas 

March 11th

 In class we were given an assignment on Newsela that had four questions to answer, ten questions that would ask about certain words, and a writing prompt. Then once we finished with all of those we would go to canvas and work on five more questions that would ask about the text of the Newsela that would be due that day

March 7th

 In class we continued to work on the benchmark test that we had started the day before. The time in class was for people to complete it and for the rest of the people who had finished it they could finish up any of the missing work that they had and if they had no more then they could work on other work from their classes. Since on March 8th would be a virtual learning day we were told that our assignment would be to finish up our missing work including the jam board poem

March 6th

 In class we took a benchmark that had twenty questions and included three written responses that we needed to do in order the get a passing grade for it. They would ask how was America different in two different time points as stated in a speech made my John f Kennedy, another would ask if phones would be included in Franklin D Roosevelt “Second Bill of Rights” and lastly one was on if the rights in the “second bill of rights” would truly help Americans feel happy.

March 4th

 In class we were told to turn in our poems and the jam board through canvas and that we would present but instead read another poem. The poem that we read talked about a group of seven kids being in a bar playing pool who have either dropped out of school, ditched it, or checked themselves out to go drink, smoke, and do things that they shouldn’t. On the back of the poem it had two columns one with things that we would write were cool and the other things that weren’t cool. Underneath that had five questions that we wouldn’t answer all except for question five on making a personal connection with the poem read 

March 1st

 Today in class we continued to work on our jamboard poems that need to be submitted on Sunday so that we could present them on Monday. We also have to complete the paper that we were given yesterday that goes along with the jam board that will have down the themes, and literary devices that were used

February 29th

 In class we were given a code so that we could start out test for the poems that we have read in the past week which has 25 questions. Each poem had at least 5 or so questions for them which would ask what certain parts of them meant. Once we had went and came back from lunch we were told about a poem that we would write about our culture and put it onto a jam board that also had five images that interpret our poem, two more that would represent our culture, four literary devices, and would have three analysis of quotes from our poem with two themes as well
