 Today in class we started reading about a female poet named Emily Dickinson who wrote thousands of poems including the one we read in class called"I'm Nobody! Who are you?"  

 Today in class I learned that the original native people all belonged to more than 200 different distinct groups around the US who spoke more than 500 languages. Another interesting that I learned in class was that they had their own complex religions, had a sophisticated political system, and strong social values which were all reflected in their literature’s. I also learned that myth and religion seem a bit similar but they have a distinct difference between them that being that a myth has supernatural elements but that they are not true, while religion has supernatural powers and are known to be true such as faith. There is also a lot of stereotypes around native Americans that I learned today such as how they some people think they are cannibals due to there being movies such as the green inferno where they were depicted as cannibals killing the people they captured and eating their organs and body parts.
